Als eine schreckliche fledermausähnliche Kreatur Gotham terrorisiert, nehmen die Behörden in Gotham an, daß es sich dabei um Batman handelt und stellen einen Haftbefehl auf den Dunklen Ritter aus. Währenddessen führen seine Ermittlungen Batman zu dem Labor von Kirk Langstrom, einem berühmten Zoologen, der mit einer Formel experimentierte, die ihn in ManBat verwandelte. Batman muß ManBat nicht nur fangen, um Langstrom zu retten, sondern auch um seinen eigenen Namen zu rehabilitieren.

Un enorme pipistrello deruba alcune aziende farmaceutiche: il sindaco Hill accetta la proposta di Bullock, cioè di rintracciare e catturare il responsabile, da molti ritenuto Batman. Il vero uomo pipistrello però indaga su alcuni peli, appartenenti probabilmente ad un pipistrello, e scopre come lo zoologo del Gotham City Zoo, Kirk Langstrom abbia sperimentato su di sé un siero per migliorare le capacità dell'uomo mescolandole con quelle dei chirotteri. Batman lo ferma, e gli inietta un antidoto.
Quando uma horrível criatura com aparência de morcego aterroriza Gotham City, as autoridades concluem que deve ser Batman. Entretanto, a investigação de Batman o leva ao laboratório de Kirk Langstrom, um zoólogo, que após experimentar uma fórmula se converte em um Morcego Humano. O detetive Bullock se dirige com o esquadrão especial de policia para prender Batman, que é suspeito pelos ataques realizados por Langstrom. Batman precisa capturar o Morcego Humano para salvar a vida de Langstrom, e também limpar seu nome das acusações.
