Nightmare Cafe

I can't put it any better than Blackie did. "Touch that remote and you die! Now that I've got your attention, here's the deal. See those two people? That's Frank, and that's Fay. Strangers when they met, turns out they've got a lot in common. Both died on the same night, both ended up in the same body of water, and both took refuge in the same all-night cafe. Me, I run the place. Name's Blackie. Been here from the beginning. Now, I know I said Frank and Fay were dead, but the cafe needed a new cook and waitress, so it gave them a second chance at life. They do their job, they get to stick around and help unsuspecting customers turn their lives around. Sans vraiment savoir comment, Frank Nolan et Fay Peronivic deviennent propriétaire d’un café ouvert toute la nuit, dans lequel passent des personnages étranges. Le couple découvre très vite qu’ils sont eux-mêmes décédés et que leur résurrection leur donne l’opportunité de changer tout ce qu’ils ont raté dans leur vie...

Una misteriosa cafetería, mediante poderes sobre el tiempo y el espacio, da una segunda oportunidad a aquellos que lo merecen y castiga a los que no. La regentan Fay y Frank, dos personas que tomaron malas elecciones en la vida y cuyos caminos se han cruzado. También está Blackie, un hombre enigmático que trabaja en la cafetería desde hace más tiempo... Este es el argumento de "El café de las pesadillas", serie creada por Wes Craven y estrenada en enero de 1992 en la cadena NBC. La serie cuenta tan sólo con 6 episodios y entre los directores que dirigieron alguno de los capítulos se encuentra Philip Noyce, reputado realizador de cine y televisión. Noyce ha dirigido éxitos de taquilla como "Juego de patriotas" o "El coleccionista de huesos" y en televisión se encargado del episodio piloto de "Tru Calling" y algunos capítulos de la serie "El autoestopista".
