謎の怪獣・スカルゴモラが街を襲った日、住む場所を失った青年・朝倉リクは、善良な相棒宇宙人・ペガと共に、天文台の地下に眠る秘密基地へと誘われる。リクは基地のコンピューター・レムから、基地の所有者になったことを告げられ、いつの日か渡されることを約束されていたというアイテム・ジードライザーとウルトラカプセルを託される。人々を救うために、リクはウルトラマンジードに変身することを決意する
