New Street Law

New Street Law is a drama series that follows two professional lawyers' cases and exploits in Manchester. The court which deals with defending clients is headed by Jack Roper and the other court, which deals with prosecuting them, is headed by Laurence Scammel QC, who is Roper's mentor.

New Street Law is een moderne en dynamische BBC-serie over twee rivaliserende advocatenkantoren in Manchester. Het verhaal begint als de jonge advocaat Jack Roper bedankt voor een goedbetaalde baan die hem wordt aangeboden door zijn mentor, de prominente aanklager Laurence Sammell. Jack realiseert zich dat hij met zijn beslissing niet alleen zijn vriendschap met Laurence op het spel zet, maar ook zijn carrière. Maar hij heeft zo zijn principes. Hij wil het per se op eigen kracht maken, en dan niet als aanklager maar als advocaat voor de verdediging. Dat blijkt hem goed af te gaan: Jack krijgt met de dag meer zelfvertrouwen. Na verloop van tijd begint Laurence zijn voormalige protegé zelfs te zien als een bedreiging voor zijn eigen status in de juridische wereld.
