La serie enfatiza en los diversos conflictos entre la República Galáctica y la Confederación de Sistemas Independientes, que son manipulados por el Canciller Supremo Palpatine como Darth Sidious, quien planea convertir al caballero Jedi Anakin Skywalker en su siguiente aprendiz Sith.
