Toby Logan (Craig Olejnik - The Timekeeper, Runaway) es un auxiliar médico que oculta un gran secreto: es capaz de leer los pensamientos ajenos. Toby no llegó a conocer a sus padres y creció en familias de acogida. Esto, añadido al secreto que oculta y que no ha compartido con nadie, lo ha convertido en una persona bastante solitaria. Hasta ahora Toby ha mantenido oculta su extraña habilidad y solo la ha compartido con su viejo mentor y confidente, el doctor Ray Mercer (Colf Feore, de los largometrajes 24: Redención y El intercambio).
