First to host from the West Midlands are free spirits Michelle and Carl, who get all Zen over their home-grown produce. They're joined by dinner party newbies Katie and Phil, and Petra and her Italian husband Sergio. The second night sees Katie and Phil opt for an ambitious menu for their first ever dinner party. But with potato rivalry, a disappointing dessert and Carl's jokes in full effect, have the newbies bitten off more than they can chew? Day three sees Petra and Sergio opt for Italian home cooked food, and the guests expect big things. But with Carl plotting yet more pranks, will they grate on the others and scupper the host's chances of winning the £1000?
