Ein Zug deutscher Infanteristen unter dem Kommando von Leutnant Prätorius soll an die Westfront verlegt werden. Die Stimmung ist schlecht. Kriegsmüdigkeit und Urlaubssperre mindern die Moral der Soldaten, als sie auf ihrem Weg auch nach Berlin kommen.
