澄田は朝のワイドショー「グッドモーニングショー」のメインキャスター。ある早朝、局に向かう彼にサブキャスターの圭子から連絡が入り、自分たちの交際を今日の生放送で発表しようと迫られる。その上プロデューサーの石山からは番組打ち切りを告げられ、澄田は踏んだり蹴ったりの事態に困惑する。生放送が始まると、今度は爆弾と銃を持った男がカフェに立てこもっているという速報が。なんと犯人は澄田を交渉役に指名する。
