Victor, un petit garçon de huit ans, se retrouve à la tête d'une grosse fortune après la mort de son père, Philippe. Hélène, sa mère, est courtisée par Roland, un cousin éloigné qui essaie de ressusciter une passion vécue dix ans plus tôt. Victor s'inquiète, d'autant que Roland a emmené avec lui Sandrine, une jolie brune dont l'enfant découvre la liaison avec Roland. Lorsque celui-ci prend la tête de l'entreprise familiale que dirigeait Philippe, Victor prend peur.
