Linda M. Purl was born in the US and raised in Japan, becoming the only foreigner to train at the Toho Geino Academy. Movie appearances include Leo and Loree, Viper, Natural Causes and Mighty Joe Young. She is perhaps best known for portraying Charlene Matlock on Matlock, and also for recurring roles on Happy Days, Port Charles, The Office, The Oath, Robin's Hoods, The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital
