بعد أن عاشت لمدة عشرين عامًا في أمريكا، تعود الأستاذة الجامعية نور (نبيلة عبيد) إلى مصر ليجتمع شملها مع بقية أفراد عائلتها، وعلى رأسهم شقيقها وزوجته وأبنائه، وتفاجأ نور بعد بقائها في مصر بكم هائل من التغيرات الاجتماعية في الحياة المصرية، وهو ما يدفعها طيلة الوقت إلى محاولة إصلاح ما يمكن إصلاحه.
