In order to procure food for his friends, Banner goes to the town. He will face some difficulties, but by chance he finds his adoptive mother cat. Now they are reunited, but Banner now feels himself as true squirrel and tells her he knows that he is just an adopted orphan. Banner have to make a difficult choice between mother and his true squirrel nature and way of life. She tells him where he can find something edible. Later he sneaks in a barn where corn is stored, with all his friends and finally after several days without food they can appease hunger. But happiness last no long, soon they eventually will be taken far away to the desert by the freight train.
