Um ein für alle mal zu beweisen, daß er den überlegenen Verstand hat, lockt der Riddler Batman in einen Rätsel - Test in der virtuellen Realität eines Computers. Batman findet, während er die Rätsel löst und den Fallen des Riddlers entkommt, heraus, daß er die Landschaft der virtuellen Realität ebenso wie der Riddler verändern kann. Mit dieser neuen Erkenntnis verursacht er, daß sich der Riddler nicht mehr konzentrieren kann. Als die künstliche Realität zusammenbricht, fällt sein "überlegenes" Gehirn in eine Art Koma, möglicherweise sogar für alle Zeit.
Seeking to prove once and for all that his is the superior mind, the Riddler lures Batman into a riddle-solving contest inside the virtual reality of a computer game in order to save Police Jim Gordon's life.
