Story for "Evil's Wave" is set before drama series “Stone's Cocoon.” In 2014, a serial murderer preys only on women in Kawasaki. The victims' are hanged to death by their necks. The criminal investigation is difficult due to the lack of clues, but Detective Iguchi finds a man named Naoya Nogi (Yuki Furukawa). It turns out Naoya Nogi's true identity is that of Masato Yaginuma. He was the victim in a case where a mother and son were kidnapped. What is Naoya Nogi’s motive for the murders?

2014年に川崎市内で起きた連続殺人事件。しかも被害者はすべて女性であり、遺体には首を吊られて甚振られた跡が残されていた。遺体の特徴から世間では「首くくり殺人」と呼ばれ怖れられていた。捜査が難航する中で捜査員である井口は野木直哉の犯行ではないかという疑いを抱く。野木という名は世間から隔離された生活を送るために八木沼雅人が使っていた偽名であった。野木は隣に住む中学時代の同級生である浅田吉佳とともに捜査の網をかいくぐろうと目論む。
