    Nick King, ship owners' agent, receives a mysterious blood-stained package through the mail, with a terse note asking him to deliver it to a third officer Svenson - who turns out to be an attrac- tive female officer on a Norwegian ship. The parcel contains a model ship in a bottle, sent by her uncle who collects model ships. King's suspicions about the innocent looking model are confirmed when Aline Svenson is offered a large sum of money for the bottle and then finds her uncle murdered.

    Following up a clue in an international case, Admiral Fox goes to a party given by a ship owner named Morrell. From the party, he calls Nick King and American agent Grainger, asking them to meet him at his office immediately. When the arrive, however, they find Fox unconscious and badly wounded.
