Providing the inside story and exclusive behind the scenes access, the documentary takes in all the highs and lows of the outstanding challenge that saw David pass through seven counties, make 111,352 strokes, burn 68,000 calories, battle a serious bacterial infection and even save a dog from drowning as well as enjoy visits from fellow comedians Miranda Hart, Rob Brydon and Jimmy Carr.

    On 22 January 2012, Blue Peter's Helen Skelton completed an epic 500-mile trek to the South Pole for Sport Relief, using three modes of transport: kite skiing, cross country skis, and - in a world first - by bike. This is the story of how she made that gruelling journey, experiencing temperatures twice below that of a household fridge freezer. As well as dealing with temperatures of -36 degrees, she had to battle with blisters, not washing for weeks on end, and a cough that threatened to give her pneumonia.

    Back in January, Jo Brand embarked on a seven-day challenge to walk 135 from east to west across the country - and cameras followed her every step of the way. The comedian took on the challenge to inspire all overweight, middle-aged women across the nation - as well as raise money for Sport Relief 2016. Starting out on the Humber Bridge with the aim of reaching Liverpool within seven days, she was tested physically and mentally as she battled extreme cold, gale force winds and torrential rain. But she still found time to share a joke or two with Alan Davies, Lee Mack, Bill Bailey, John Bishop, Gabby Logan and Davina McCall, who joined her on various days.

  • S2018E01 Sport Relief 2018 - Part 1

    Sport Relief is back for 2018 bringing a bumper night of entertainment, music and comedy to BBC One and for the first time the show will come live from Salford. The mayhem begins from 7pm as Gary Lineker, Davina McCall and Ore Oduba welcome viewers. Throughout the night Paddy McGuinness, Claudia Winkleman and Freddie Flintoff will also take on presenting duties as the fun rolls into the early hours. A host of famous faces will come together for the big night of TV with some stepping into new and unfamiliar territory all in the name of entertainment and fundraising. Viewers are in for a treat, as Celebrity Boxing makes a comeback. Six fearless celebrities will don their gloves and take to the ring in a series of bouts. Wayne Bridge faces Spencer Matthews, Hannah Spearritt goes head to head with Vanessa White and Camilla Thurlow takes on Helen Skelton - mouth guards at the ready! During the jam packed evening, comedian John Bishop will take on a role he could only have dreamt of as he sets out on a mission to help England win the World Cup. We'll see a special Clash Of The Channels Boat Race and Quizmaster Sue Barker hosts a special edition of A Question of Sport. There will be regular visits outside the studio to 5-Live-A-Side where Robbie Savage's celebrity all-star five-a-side football team attempt a whopping twelve hours of non-stop football. Strictly Come Dancing brings even more glitz and glamour to the evening as three football legends Alex Scott, Chris Kamara and David Ginola don their sequins to show us their fancy footwork. Throughout the night, there will be a look into how money raised through Sport Relief can help vulnerable people in the UK and across the world live happier, healthier, safer lives, through several appeal films with a special focus this year on maternal health, malaria and mental health.

    Famously Unfit for Sport Relief follows entertainer Les Dennis, presenter Susannah Constantine, actress Tameka Empson and comedian Miles Jupp as they embark on a muscle-grinding mission to regain their fitness, while trying to inspire the British public to do the same and get active for Sport Relief. Over the course of ten weeks, the foursome run, climb and swim their way back to fitness, culminating in one of the UK's hardest and most demanding physical challenges, a muddy and exhausting assault course in freezing temperatures. The four team members have all acknowledged their personal struggles to keep in shape. As well as fighting their own personal battle, they test the latest science which suggests getting fit in a group is much easier than doing it on your own. Helping them on their way are former Olympian and sports scientist Professor Greg Whyte OBE and Trust Me, I'm A Doctor's Dr Zoe Williams. The show also features visits to two Sport Relief-funded projects in the UK. These projects are just some of the ways in which money raised through Sport Relief helps vulnerable people in the UK and across world to live happier and healthier lives.

    Gareth 'Alfie' Thomas is a former British Lions captain, who represented Wales at both Union and Rugby League and broke 40 bones during his playing career. He was also the first professional rugby player to publicly announce that he was gay and has proven himself in sport and in life to be totally fearless. Except for one thing. He is terrified of heights. Any heights. The hard man of the rugby field can't even a climb step ladder without being crippled by anxiety. And he hates flying too. But for Sport Relief this year he will face that fear by agreeing to take part in a very special parachute jump. He will take to the air with a team of skydiving OAPs - each of them first-time jumpers and everyone of them committed to showing that age and fear is no barrier to taking on a challenge. Their coach is 85-year-old Welsh wonder Dilys Price, the world's oldest female skydiver, and its her job to get Gareth to conquer his fears - coaxing him through ever more terrifying height challenges and ultimately the big jump itself. Meanwhile, his new teammates give him an insight into their lives and how growing old can be the biggest challenge of all.

Joined by a team of celebrity supporters, including Sir Chris Hoy and Strictly Come Dancing's Susan Calman and Joe McFadden - Des travels to Scotland, and amongst his many challenges attempts to swim Loch Ness, cycle the Forth Bridge and drive to the top of a mountain with Top Gear's Rory Reid. No easy tasks for a man who can't swim, cycle or drive. Will Des Clarke complete his challenges? Will he conquer his fears?
