This island is covered in reclaimed Chicago Common brick veneer and topped with concrete countertops that include a bar top for entertaining. The surrounding yard is also transformed with a cedar deck remodel, privacy plantings and a bluestone and gravel patio.

    Yard Crashers is taking it on the road and crashing Chicago. Host and licensed landscape contractor Ahmed Hassan finds homeowners with a giant backyard of grass, a cracked driveway and decrepit screened in porch that he's ready to transform. In just two days, the backyard is torn down and built back up with a giant antique cobble driveway patio that leads to a revived screened in porch complete with indestructible screens and one giant remote control screen the opens up into the backyard. Plus, they introduce an old piece for a new fire pit by using an antique sugar kettle shipped in from Louisiana. They build up beautiful stone around the sugar kettle and it's ready for the fire. A brand new barbeque, new grass and two truckloads of plants make this yard complete.

  • S04E03 A River Runs Through It

    This crash muscles its way through the storm of the century to turn a neglected backyard with an abandoned water feature into a rustic mountain retreat for this outdoor loving couple. Ahmed and crew take the best parts of the homeowners' "river in progress" and transform it into a giant waterfall spilling into a running-water river bed winding around the yard and emptying into a new fire feature. Next, efforts are turned toward rehab'ing an existing patio by adding flagstone to increase the "hang out" space. The extra space creates a home for their beloved grill as part of a new outdoor kitchen featuring chunky leathered granite counters.

    A disastrous backyard gets a major facelift. What was once a rotten retaining wall, plain dirt and shabby fence becomes a classy outdoor hangout. Plus, the homeowners have a ton of shade preventing grass from growing so host and licensed landscape contractor Ahmed Hassan uses recycled rubber mulch to create a soft surface.

A soccer field gives the kids a place to play while a beautiful paver patio with shade structure above creates a hangout hub for adults. Host and licensed landscape contractor Ahmed Hassan creates a patio area which sports a one of a kind "aqua grill" with a water feature on one side and a BBQ on the other. A fire pit and matching benches add another entertaining area for the entire family to enjoy.

A 600 square foot composite deck mimicking tropical hardwood is built around the hot tub to extend the "hang-ability" factor. Host and licensed landscape contractor Ahmed Hassan enhances the view with a hip sheet metal wall which is welded with angular pieces of scrap metal. In the yard, an oversized octagon-shaped fire pit is plunked in the middle of a tranquil garden to give this backyard a chic yet serene style.

  • S05E01 Reclaimed Party Pad

    A young couple looking for a "Fancy Farmhouse" themed-yard gets a total backyard transformation with reclaimed elements at every turn. Salvaged Chicago street pavers and 100-year-old barn wood are used to create a unique patio and deck area up at the house, with an "urbanite" fire pit made from elements in their yard completing the look in back. To top it off, a custom cedar table with a concrete farmhouse sink provides a grill prep station for the massive charcoal grill.

  • S05E02 A Slammin' Stainless Steel Hot Tub

    A young couple that have a rather unimpressive Chicago backyard help transform it into an amazing outdoor experience, complete with new paver patio, flaming water feature, and stainless steel hot tub. The challenge here is clearing out every inch of the backyard and putting something awesome in its place in just two days.     A young California couple has a backyard that is overgrown and neglected. There's tons of space and room for improvement, but with an old weathered deck, a corner tetherball court and overgrown vegetation, they just don't know where to start. The challenge here is to get rid of the forgotten elements of this yard while making room for the change to come. The final outcome is a Bali-style retreat for the couple, fused with a few elements that their children can enjoy. The end result is a classy reinterpretation of this backyard, complete with a meditation deck with its own rain feature, climbing wall for the kids, wine barrels turned into swings, and a curving custom poured patio.

Problem is he spends so much time upgrading everyone else's home that he has no time left for his own yard, which is full of speedboats, power tools and way too much dead grass. This episode elevates the view of his rockin' backyard with the addition of a second-story door, balcony and composite deck, mature trees, regulation-sized horseshoe pit, soil-stabilized pathways, pergola-covered spa, and original pop art. In two days, this outdoor abyss will morph into a bachelor's bliss.

Taking a cue from the existing brick retaining wall, the "Crasher" crew adds a 10-foot-long brick fountain with handcrafted metal swan waterspouts surrounded by a concrete deck. The back patio expansion includes a three-tiered pergola remodel that's tricked out in custom metal art, sunroofs and a brick basket-weave extension pad. The hillside gets all new landscaping to stabilize the soil, along with a swing-for-two overlooking a knot garden below.

A travertine patio expands the entertaining space as it leads from the sliding glass door out to a massive fireplace wall with lush landscaping all around. A seat wall and L-shaped bar are custom-built and topped off with onyx countertops that are lit from below with LED rope lighting.

    "Yard Crashers" is taking on Sin City! A once ordinary backyard in the desert is completely transformed into a cool outdoor hot spot. This crash goes above and beyond with a modern splash pad for both kids and adults. Plus, Ahmed surprises these homeowners with a fully loaded outdoor kitchen, complete with a grill, blender, refrigerator and topped off with concrete countertops and unique tile. And in Las Vegas, you gotta have shade, so they bring in a one-of-a-kind cluster umbrella feature to keep this yard cool!

Season 6

  • S06E01 Rose Parade

    The Rose Queen herself delivers the plans that transform a boring, neglected Pasadena backyard into a space fit for royalty. The lower portion of the exsisting patio is stained. The homeowners then step up onto a new, 500 square foot deck that leads to a custom built steal and wood pergola. Below, a custom poured cement fire pit and benches provide a separate place to relax. Behind the pergola, gabion walls, hand built with 5 tons of river rock, take the place of a typical retaining wall. And in a nod to the Rose Parade, it's all topped off with lush landscaping, blooming roses, topiaries, a living portrait and DIY float- inspired yard art.

  • S06E02 Artistic Retreat

    Ahmed and his crew are turning a small, boring yard into an artistic retreat for a Sacramento couple. First, a redwood deck expands the entertaining space, wrapping around from the sliding-glass back door out to an extended roof covering. Then, the team constructs an LED-lit cinder-block seating area in front of a custom-built water wall. And how does Ahmed top off this crash? With a gigantic orange tree lit from below and throughout with LED lights.

    A newly engaged couple with a boring, uninviting backyard sees their space transformed into a party place for friends and family. In one corner, dead lawn bordered by a dilapidated retaining wall becomes an entertainment zone, and a PVC deck ringed by new retaining-wall benches overlooks a natural-looking dry creek bed. Chris starts with demoing the existing cracked concrete pad and replacing it with concrete squares in a grid pattern. Pedro is a chef so Chris adds a large 'L' shape kitchen & bar island faced in metal mesh, and an herb garden. For Alicia, he includes a large metal shade structure over a dining space. The rickety block wall is replaced with a cement and glass block water wall to become the yard's focal point.

Nearby, he adds a custom wood plank table that is covered with a bright shade sail. Chris upcycles Eric's home-made bench into a bar and tops it with a cantilevered pergola. He also gives Eric an outdoor shower with privacy walls made from shutters. In the center of the space he includes a low bowl water feature surrounded by grass and lush landscaping.

He includes wood slatted panels and a large fence for privacy, a custom made wood and metal kayak storage rack and a unique boulder fire feature. He finishes off with lush landscaping, sod and a pig spit for the ultimate roaster's retereat.

He starts with demoing the existing patio and replacing it with sleek concrete slabs. He adds a custom concrete bench and fire feature conversation area and artificial turf, plus plenty of drought tolerant plants. A big new barbecue is dropped into a one-of-a-kind prep space with white metal countertops. DIY pendants hang over a metal floating bar and a metal and wood dining table is also included. All this entertaining space is topped off with shade sails and a cantilevered arbor with perforated metal to provide plenty of shade.

Chris comes up with a design to do both, he adds a gigantic concrete patio that gets surrounded with colorful metal planters full of large trees and a variety of flowers. He then adds a large outdoor kitchen, faced in glass mosaic tile and topped with a funky concrete countertop, along with a large fireplace/water feature combo that acts as the yard's focal point. He includes custom light posts, an oversized dining table and a relaxation area complete with artificial turf and a hammock.

Two Spanish style masonry planters balance the yard with mature trees and plants around the yard.

The ugly deck spindles are replaced with nautical rope, and down below Chris adds a large flagstone patio with stone fire pit and four Adirondack chairs. In addition, a white pergola is added, along with a raised stone cutting garden. Finally the empty space under the deck is turned into an outdoor work out area.
