明末年間，曾因天狗食月發生麥田怪圈現象福澤桃源村民，使其擁有神秘力量守護蒼生，世紀更迭成為守護者一族。大齡「廢柴女」蔣一依與初戀男友楚天祺已分手兩週年，表面上活得灑脫內心仍舊情難卻。她與實習守護者方牧野無心邂逅，兩人合租成為歡喜冤家，方牧野的奇妙能力不僅增添生活妙趣更將蔣一依改頭換面，助她在職場力爭上游更喚醒兒時的發明家夢想，決心研發機器手臂幫助失臂運動員石亮重回球場。方牧野為使蔣一依的前男友回心轉意，多次令兩人化險為夷情緣重燃。而他自己卻意外成為瘋狂科學家陳彼得的研究對象身陷囹圄。蔣一依也在漸漸獨立的過程中認清真愛，兩人在互相守護與奉獻中，帶出幸福的真諦。
