第二高中排球队是一支没有球迷、没有教练没有经费的排球队，队长小拓与挚友阿信靠着满腔热血与队友打进三十二强。但不幸的是他们的对手是明星球队天恒高中，第二中学顽强抵抗了半局后便被打的落花流水，赛后小拓、阿信等人约定来年一定要卷土重来。新学期伊始，球队迫不及待的来到球场训练，而阿信却说自己是来告别的，自己将要去天恒高中。第二高中排球队整个球队分崩离析。新生阿任被好友大鲁拉到排球队参观没想到却意外目睹球队的分手大戏，在球队生死存亡之际，阿任申请加入了球队，加入球队后的阿任与小拓处处针锋相对，被教练禁赛。甚至在与天恒高中的友谊赛上二人在一旁只能坐冷板凳，面对最后惨败天恒二中62分的结果，小拓与阿任望着彼此，双眼燃烧着斗志。他们知道等待他们的是最棒的队友，最燃的夏天，最动人的失败，这是他们想要的青春。
