该剧改编自秦明文学作品《无声的证词》，讲述了初出茅庐的天赋青年秦明，在林当等人的帮助下，一步步走出童年记忆阴霾，并成长为可以把控全局的法医大神的故事。 15年后，拥有和15年前秦明经历的那场凶杀案相同作案特征的案件，在龙番市居然再次发生了。是模仿做案？还是当年抓错人？或者是凶手另有帮凶？旧案梦魇再次被翻出，心结困扰不断，而现场乱入的林当，更是经常让秦明措手不及……铁笼尸体案、“侠盗联盟”案、“死亡骑士”案连环发生。最后自己的亲生父亲居然卷入案情漩涡……当年的记忆一点点浮现脑海，凶手随时浮出水面……
