그 여름, 열여덟 살 소녀들의 사랑 그때, “서로의 몸은 차라리 꽃잎과 물결에 가까웠다” 두 소녀 '이경'과 '수이'는 흔치 않은 사랑을 나누며 타인의 시선을 조심해야 했던 시기를 지나 점점 두려워하던 시선과 자신에 대한 판단에 예전만큼 겁내지 않기 시작한다. 스무 살이 된 그녀들은 서울로 이주해 한 명은 대학에 입학, 다른 한 명은 직업학교에서 자동차 정비를 배운다. 각자에게 서로 다른 활동 반경이 생겨나면서 생겨나는 새로운 즐거움과 사소한 오해들, 그 속에서 둘 사이의 감정의 변화가 밀려온다.
