Die Neue in Mondsee im Salzkammergut ist Lisa Engel (Doris Schretzmayer), gerade erst Inspektorin geworden und nun von Wien in die österreichische Provinz versetzt. Ihre Kollegen sind Oberst Steiner (Ernst Konarek) und Assistent Sterntaler (Rainer Egger), außerdem wird sie von ihrem pensionierten Vorgänger Rudi Aschenbrenner (Heinz Marecek) und dem Kneipenwirt Eddie (Dirk Martens) unterstützt.
