The series is set during the Edo period, in the Fukagawa ward of old Edo (present-day Tokyo). Because the area is prone to fire and flooding, residents rent everyday items like pots, futons, and clothing from shops instead of purchasing them, so as not to impede them when they flee. Obeni and Seiji, an older sister and younger brother, run one such rental shop called Izumoya. However, mixed in with their inventory are tsukumogami, objects that have turned into spirits after a hundred years of existence. The siblings sometimes lend these sentient items to customers. Both Obeni and Seiji can see and talk to these spirits, and other tsukumogami often come to the store after hearing of the famed siblings.
L'histoire se déroule au Japon, à Edo (ancien nom de Tokyo), dans le quartier de Fukagawa.
Obeni et Seiji sont frère et soeur et gèrent ensemble une petite échoppe qui loue différents accessoires. En effet, Fukagawa est un quartier régulièrement en proie aux flammes et les habitants ont pris l'habitude de louer certaines choses plutôt que de les acheter.
Parmi les objets présents dans la boutique se trouvent des "tsukumogami", des objets devenus des esprits après des centaines d'années d'existence.

È al buon cuore dei fratelli reagire a questi bisticci e risolvere ogni problema usando i poteri degli Tsukumogami.

お紅と清次という姉弟がいた。
損料屋というのは、日用品から骨董品、そして美術品とありとあらゆる品を
いくらかで客に貸し出す商いのこと。
ただこの出雲屋は取り扱う道具たちが、他の店のものと一味も二味も違うのは、
作られてから百年以上が過ぎ、魂をやどした「つくもがみ」という
一種の妖のようなもになってしまっているところ。
お客の元に貸し出されては、色々な話を聞いて来て、
噂話を繰り広げる「つくもがみ」たちの力を借りながら
この町で起こる大小さまざまな騒動を解決していく。
江戸の町に花開く「つくもがみ」と

阿紅和清次姐弟，在江戶的深川仲町經營出租店·出雲屋。所謂的出租店，是將從日用品到古董品、美術品等各種物品以某種價格借給客戶的生意。
只不過這間出雲屋所經營的道具，與其他店的物品有所不同，那就是製造超過百年以上的物品會化作擁有靈魂的「付喪神」這種像是妖怪一樣的東西。
被租借給客人後產生各種故事，傳出各種流言的「付喪神」。為人善良的阿紅和清次，藉助這些「付喪神」的力量，解決小鎮上發生的大大小小各種騷動。

Die Geschichte von Tsukumogami Kashimasu ist zeitlich in der Edo-Periode angesiedelt und spielt in dem Fukagawa-Bezirk im alten Edo. Weil die Gegend anfällig für Überflutungen und Brände ist, wurde es für die Anwohner Teil des Alltags, dass sie sich ihre alltäglichen Gebrauchsgegenstände wie Töpfe, Futons und Kleidung aus speziellen Geschäften liehen, anstatt diese zu kaufen. Im Notfall würden die Gegenstände sie somit bei einer schnellen Flucht nicht behindern. Die Geschwister Obeni und Seiji betreiben ein solches Geschäft, genannt Izumoya. Unter ihrem Inventar befinden sich neben dem üblichen Alltagsbedarf jedoch auch sogenannte Tsukumogami – Objekte, die sich, nachdem sie bereits seit Hunderten von Jahren existieren, in Geister verwandelt haben. Die Geschwister leihen manchmal auch diese empfindsamen Gegenstände an ihre Kunden aus.
