Becoming Jane

Jane Austen jest młodą kobietą, która na przekór XVIII wiecznym zwyczajom, pragnie być wykształcona i mądra oraz wyjść za mąż nie dla pieniędzy lecz z miłości. Jej rodzice chcą, aby poślubiła osobę, która zapewni jej dostatnie życie, a rodzinie pomoże spłacić długi. Odpowiednim kandydatem wydaje się bratanek Lady Gresham - Pan Wisley. Jednak na swojej drodze Jane spotyka młodego, aroganckiego, przystojnego lecz biednego Irlandczyka- Toma Lefroya. Bohaterkę na początku irytuje sposób bycia oraz krytyka Toma, jednak z biegiem czasu ich drogi zaczynają się schodzić. W tym też czasie Jane odrzuca oświadczyny Pana Wisleya.
