Sami Kafati muere (1996) dejando inconcluso el primer largometraje hondureño de ficción, "No hay tierra sin dueño". Ramsés, hijo del director y Carmen Brito, montajista chilena, terminan el filme. "Corazón abierto" reconstruye los años que Kafati dedicó a hacer posible un largo hondureño que finalmente, 7 años después de su muerte, llegó a Cannes (2003).
