I due superpiedi quasi piatti

Miami. Wilbur Walsh e Matt Kirby sono due disoccupati che cercano di sbarcare il lunario. Nonostante la loro buona volontà, non riescono proprio a trovare un lavoro, e a questo punto Kirby, ormai frustrato, suggerisce a Walsh di tentare un colpo che egli progetta da tempo: rapinare l'ufficio amministrazione di un supermercato. Tutto sembra essere stato pianificato nei minimi dettagli, ma incredibilmente il giorno della rapina sbagliano porta di ingresso, ritrovandosi così, invece che nel supermercato, nell'adiacente ufficio reclutamento della polizia.Per non destare sospetti, sono costretti ad arruolarsi e a prendere parte al corso di addestramento. Vista la situazione, Walsh e Kirby tentano in tutti i modi di farsi cacciare, ma invano; anzi, col tempo finiscono invece per diventare due veri poliziotti che riescono a risolvere un misterioso caso di omicidio e ad arrestare una banda di trafficanti di sostanze stupefacenti ad esso collegata.

Deux petits escrocs sans envergure, Wilbur Walsh et Matt Kirby, hantent le port de Miami, en Floride. Ensemble, ils envisagent de commettre un hold-up qui ne tarde pas à tourner à la méprise. Enrôlés par erreur dans la police, ils doivent maintenant lutter contre le chef de la pègre locale...

Wilbur Walsh (Bud Spencer) and Matt Kirby (Terence Hill) are in Miami, looking for work as longshoremen, but the area is managed by shady dealers who refuse to give them a job, after which the dealers are beaten up and have three of their cars wrecked in the process. Walsh and Kirby meet up and then leave the dock, tired of looking for a job. Matt is particularly intrigued by the closed nature of Wilbur, who tries to avoid it in any way. Matt, after introducing himself, suggests that Walsh and he should work together on something he had been planning; the robbery of a supermarket. Walsh accepts, aided by Kirby's conniving ways to remove police attention, but by mistake the two end up in the police station and, to prevent being locked away, they say that they want to become police officers, which is granted.
