Salvo è un ladro di arte sacra che si professa ateo. Padre Valentino invece crede fortemente nella preghiera e... nel presepe. Quando il primo tenta il furto della preziosa statua del bambino Gesù e il secondo lo scopre, l'inseguimento ha come esito un salto temporale. I due si ritrovano nella Palestina dell'anno zero dove Gesù sta per nascere.
