8歳の少年タカシは夏休みの間、叔母・ややこに預けられる。脚本家のややこは創作のため、昨年死んだ祖父・隆二郎の古民家に滞在している。母のいない田舎暮らし、古いクマの伝承、かつての石切り場…。都会育ちのタカシには毎日が新鮮だ。やがてふたりは隆二郎の日記を通じ、彼の古い記憶に触れることになる。
