La tranquillite d'une famille fantasque est perturbee par l'irruption d'un seduisant Anglais.

Séverine e Georges, felicemente sposati, dirigono un hotel di lusso e di antica tradizione in rue de Rivoli, nel cuore di Parigi. Ne è proprietaria mémé Boulle, una vecchia signora che a suo tempo aveva adottato tre gemelli rimasti orfani - la stessa Séverine, suo fratello Alain e sua sorella Baba - educandoli poi a una visione anticonvenzionale della vita. A sconvolgere la tranquillità dell'albergo giunge Tony, un giovane scrittore inglese ricco e un po' hippy conosciuto da Alain e Baba durante uno dei loro viaggi...

Severine, her husband Georges, Alain, Baba, his brothers and sisters and granny Boul make up the Boulard clan. The Boulard Hotel, all it up in the light of a mandarin lamp, is their empire. The arrival of a young Englisman, Tony, will disturb the atmosphere in the hotel where the family live. Will it be the end of the Boulard clan ?
