Lütt Matten hat einen großen Traum. Eine eigene Reuse will er bauen und damit Aale fangen, wie es sich für einen Fischersohn an der Ostsee gehört. Seine Freundin Mariken unterstützt ihn dabei. Doch kein einziger Fisch geht ins Netz und Matten wird vom ganzen Dorf verlacht. Um sich zu beweisen, begibt er sich auf die Suche nach der weißen Zauber-Muschel und damit in große Gefahr.
