Il y a près d’une dizaine d’années, Jean-Luc Godard est allé rendre visite à Marcel Ophüls, dans les Pyrénées, afin de lui proposer de co-réaliser un film sur le conflit israélo-palestinien. Certains désaccords ont empêché la réalisation de ce projet. Le 31 octobre 2009, ils se retrouvent au Théâtre Saint-Gervais à Genève, pour en rediscuter. Face à nous, c'est la rencontre de deux figures mythiques de l'histoire du cinéma.
