Mysterious Skin

Una década después de ser abusados por su entrenador de béisbol, dos amigos toman distintos caminos: uno es tímido e introvertido, bloquea el abuso de su memoria y está obsesionado con los OVNIs; el otro es un estafador que se dirige al submundo homosexual de la gran ciudad.

Two eight-year-old Little League teammates Neil McCormick and Brian Lackey both experience life-altering events in the summer of 1981 in Hutchinson, Kansas. Neil, the son of an irresponsible single mother and already discovering his homosexuality, is Child sexual abuse by the Little League coach, who leaves town after that summer. Brian, with a neglectful father and a mother who is often working, remembers it starting to rain during a game. The next thing he remembers is being in the crawl space of a house with a bloody nose, having no memory of the intervening five hours.

A huit ans, Brian Lackey se réveille dans la cave de sa maison, le nez en sang, sans aucune idée de ce qui a pu lui arriver. Sa vie change complètement après cet incident : peur du noir, cauchemars, évanouissements... Dix ans plus tard, il est certain d'avoir été enlevé par des extraterrestres et pense que seul Neil Mc Cormick pourrait avoir la clé de l'énigme. Ce dernier est un outsider à la beauté du diable, une petite frappe dont tout le monde tombe amoureux mais qui ne s'attache à personne. Il regrette encore la relation qu'il avait établie avec son coach de baseball quand il avait huit ans. Brian tente de retrouver Neil pour dénouer le mystère qui les empêche de vivre.
