Ome Cor, een Rotterdamse havenarbeider, komt in de problemen als hij fraudeert met zijn arbeidsongeschiktheidsuitkering. Uiteindelijk belandt hij zelfs in de gevangenis. Ook de relatie met zijn puberdochter Carola staat onder spanning, en verloopt maar moeizaam. Hij probeert zijn leven weer op de rit te krijgen.
