No Japão, Kyoto Okudera dá aulas a um grupo de crianças num infantário. Um dia, convencida pela sua amiga Madoka, decide surpreender Naoto, o seu namorado, passando pelo restaurante onde que ele trabalha. Quando lá chega, uma melodia inquietante e familiar soa no seu telemóvel. A chamada traz consigo um grito de agonia, pressagiando a morte de Madoka... e o horror aparece na sua forma mais truculenta. Naoto e Kyoto descobrem agora que são alvos de uma maldição e unem forças com um jornalista para descobrir a chave do mistério e salvar as sua vidas...
Kindergarten teacher Kyoko Okudera is invited by her friend Madoka Uchiyama to eat at a Chinese restaurant, where Kyoko's boyfriend, Naoto Sakurai, works part-time at. The chef, Mr. Wang, receives the cursed phone call from his daughter, Meifeng's phone, redirecting the curse to inflict on him. Meifeng later arrives with a new phone and exchanges her new phone number with Kyoko and Madoka, the latter receiving the cursed call right afterward. Naoto heads to the kitchen and discovers Mr. Wang dead with half his face burned off.
