Pipino, King of France, asks King Philip of Hungary to marry his daughter Berta of the Great Foot. Marante will attempt to thwart the marriage with the help of her beloved Falista, kidnapping Berta and replacing her with Falista herself. Once the treacherous deception is discovered, the three paladins of France will help Pippin defeat Marante and find Berta.
