Nel corso del loro viaggio, Ash, Iris e Spighetto si trovano coinvolti nel rivivere di un'antica leggenda che li porterà ad incontrare i mitici Reshiram, Zekrom e Victini e ad affrontare una dura battaglia. Il lungometraggio, uscito in contemporeanea con Pokemon Nero e Bianco Il film: Nero - Victini e Reshiram, presenta la stessa trama ma differisce per alcune ambientazioni, Pokemon o caratteristiche grafiche.
La légende raconte qu'autrefois existait un Pokémon unique divin. Mais un jour, il s'est divisé alors que deux jumeaux se faisaient la guerre. Le premier avait soif de réalité, le deuxième, soif d'idéal. L'un avait dans son camp Zekrom, le Pokémon Noir Idéal, l'autre, Reshiram, le Pokémon Blanc Réalité. Depuis longtemps demeuraient deux légendes à propos de la création d'Unys, mais chacune d'elles se complétaient Sacha, Iris et Rachid arrive à Eindoak, endroit où se trouve un château à présent en ruine que l'on nomme "L'épée de la Terre". Nos héros participeront au festivité de la ville. Par la suite, ils rencontreront un Pokémon, Victini, lequel possède un pouvoir qui peut agir sur les humains et les Pokémon. Ce même jour, Dread Grangil, un descendant du royaume, essaye de réaliser les désires du royaume en s'emparant des pouvoir de Victini, ce qui causera aussi la perte d'Eindoak. Tout ceci était sans compter l'arrivée de Reshiram et Zekrom.
Bei ihrer Reise durch die Einall-Region erreichen Ash und seine Freunde Lilia und Benny die Stadt Eindoak Town. Dort erzählt man sich eine Legende über die Schwertburg, ein Wahrzeichen der Stadt, die vor langer Zeit ihren vorigen Standort im Tiefland verlassen haben soll und an ihre jetzige Position gebracht wurde, um eine zerstörerische Kraft, die Drachenenergie, zu versiegeln. Während des Erntedankfestes der Stadt lernen die Freunde das mystische Pokémon Victini kennen, dessen Kraft angeblich dazu verwendet wurde, um die Schwertburg zu bewegen, sowie Damon und seine Familie. Damon hat den Plan, mithilfe des legendären Pokémon Reshiram und mit Victinis Kraft die Schwertburg wieder zurück ins Tiefland zu bringen, um die Gegend wieder zum Leben zu erwecken und den Wunsch seiner Mutter zu erfüllen. Doch hat dieses Unterfangen gefährliche Konsequenzen und Ash muss Zekrom, ein weiteres legendäres Pokémon, zur Hilfe holen, um Schlimmeres zu verhindern.

Dieser Film ist beinahe mit dem Film Pokémon - Der Film: Schwarz - Victini und Reshiram identisch, doch weisen beide Filme einige Unterschiede auf ‒ so sind die Rollen der Pokémon Reshiram und Zekrom jeweils vertauscht.

Satoshi, Iris, and Dent arrive in Eindoak during a harvest festival's Pokémon Tournament and meet the legendary Pokémon Victini who wishes to share its powers of victory to someone. Elsewhere in the city, a descendant of the People of the Earth named Dred Grangil has arrived who seeks to revive the kingdom's power with the Sword of the Earth, bringing them back into power over the land, and Satoshi and his friends must stop him before he destroys the land along with Victini.
Ash e os seus amigos participam na batalha da Cidade de Eindoak e alcançam a vitória com a inesperada ajuda do mítico Pokémon Victini que possui uma ligação muito especial àquele local… Já houve tempos em que Victini e o rei do Reino do Povo da Terra protegeram o povo, mas o reino está agora em declínio.
