自分のことをごく平凡な家庭で普通に育った幸せな娘と信じていた楓（宮崎あおい）は、ある日、母親が父親の愛人だったという事実を知ってしまう。傷ついた楓は、心の拠り所にしている物理学者の博士（西島秀俊）の元へと向うが、博士は自分の壊れた家庭環境との葛藤（かっとう）から、楓の気持ちを受け止められず……。
