Ruj Ronapop was an actor, screenwriter and director born in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Ruj directed over thirty films and acted in more than fifty films. He's well known for directing romance movies such as the Sunset at Chaopraya (1988), Louie (1977) and Phairak Soom Suang (1975). Ruj Ronapo won the Award of the Princess Sirindhorn. He was also nominated for several awards, including the Suphan Swan National Film Award for Best Actor. Ruj is the father of seven children, two of them actors, Mai Charoeunpura and Intira Jaroenpura. He died at the age of seventy-eight due to complications from diabetes.
