A história toda se desenvolve a partir da médica Martha, que trabalha há 40 anos, sempre na mesma clínica, no Rio de Janeiro. Ela conhece Cris e percebe que encontrou uma sucessora. Então começa a amizade das duas, que tentam exercer sua profissão com o máximo de ética, apesar do dono da clínica, que está sempre tentando, digamos, economizar.

Dr. Martha and Dr. Christina live hand in hand with suffering and joy, struggling against lack of ethics and rediscovering, in each new patient, the values and pleasures of routine challenges. Besides their work, the two doctors also have their own dreams to fulfill. While Martha - who has worked for 40 years - cannot bring herself to retire in order to live out the many plans she has with her husband, Chris - who is young, single and romantic - seeks the love of her life.

Dos médicas que conviven, día a día, con el dolor y la alegría en una clínica. Son capaces de dejar sus problemas personales para dedicarse de cuerpo y alma al trabajo y a la lucha por los derechos de la mujer.
