文革大潮袭来，不仅使无数人蒙受不白之冤，也摧毁了整整一代人的青春和未来。万千热血青年响应“上山下乡”的号召，前赴后继奔赴祖国边疆。他们在那里挥洒着自己的青春，对未来与前途倍感迷惑。十年一梦，大返城的汹涌狂潮将这群已不再年轻的青年人带回家乡，在这片他们曾经耕耘过的热土上，不仅曾留下汗水和泪水，还有他们生命的延续。 岁月荏苒，光阴似箭。当年的那些老知青们各自有了稳定的工作和美满的家庭，他们渐渐忘却远在他乡的记忆和儿女。而在云南边疆，一群知情的孩子知晓了自己的身世，他们结伴乘火车来到上海，只为找到生养了自己，却又将他们抛弃的父母……
