中学校の試合で指を骨折した後、谷口隆夫は野球をすることができなくなりました。住谷高校に入学後は、プレーできなくても野球部を常に見守っています。彼はサッカークラブのキャプテンの目に留まり、野球クラブに参加するという希望がまだ残っているうちに、サッカークラブに参加することを決心しました。谷口は完全な初心者でありながら、中学生の頃から強い努力の精神を育み、新しいチームメイトは彼の可能性に気づき始めました。
