2021年中国津海，一款名为“特工任务”的游戏正在年轻人中盛行。 谁也无从知晓，这款游戏竟出自境外情报组织“夜雾”之手。“夜雾”利 用游戏玩家在未知情况下暗中开展间谍活动，并借机在玩家之中发展可利 用的间谍，游戏的恶种正悄无声息的在津海市蔓延。 此时，津海市国安局侦察科科长高天阳，与潜伏在特工游戏中的情报 人员吴熙互相配合，深入游戏调查一起实验室机密失窃案。二人在调查的 过程中，发现与高天阳一起长大的弟弟黄子诚竟也深陷特工游戏之中。高 天阳吴熙成功挽救了身陷间谍阴谋的黄子诚，黄子诚也凭借着在特工游戏 中的丰富经验，成为了国安局的线人。 黄子诚在游戏的过程中，邂逅了搭档姚瑶，两人共同度过一段惊心动 魄的游戏之旅。正当黄子诚情愫渐生之时，意外发现自己和姚瑶的偶遇， 从始至终就是一场骗局，姚瑶竟是间谍拉他下水的诱饵。游戏的残酷性， 一步步显现在众人的面前。
