Haru durchläuft eine erstaunliche Entwicklung. Im Burst-Linker Battle gegen Takumu bekommt sein Avatar Silver Crow mächtig was auf die Rüstung. Aber dann erholt er sich und seinem Avatar wachsen sogar Flügel.
As Haru learns just how horrible of a person Takumu is, he flees from Cyan Pile's attacks, losing one of Silver Crow's arms in the process. Haru initially gets the advantage thanks to his speed, but is soon hit by Takumu's special attack and loses a foot as well. As Takumu vents his anger on how Chiyuri is always thinking about Haru, he hits him with a powerful attack that leaves him with a fraction of health. Haru finds himself in a basement where he finds Kuroyukihime's sleeping avatar, whose beating heart reminds him how strength isn't always about winning. Just then, Haru gains a new power in the form of wings, making him the first flying Brain Burst avatar and allowing him to fly back up and overcome Takumu's attack. In leau of defeating Takumu, causing him to lose all his points and his Burst Linker status, Haru asks him to become one of his allies and start over. Afterwards, Kuroyukihime appears and decides to reveal her avatar's true form, Black Lotus, announcing her goals to the spectators. Everyone was shocked to see that Black Lotus is still alive. Later, as Haru visits Kuroyukihime in hospital, she asks him to call her by her first name.
Takumu si riscopre essere Cyan Pile e Haru, per impedirgli di vincere facilmente gli ultimi punti di Kuroyukihime, è costretto a sfidare per primo il suo amico d'infanzia. Prima del combattimento i due amici si confrontano e Haru viene a sapere ciò che Takumu prova veramente, della sua frustrazione per il fatto che, pur essendo il ragazzo di Chiyuri, questa pensi sempre e solo al suo migliore amico. Haru cerca in ogni modo di proteggere il suo sire e, dopo essere stato messo in seria difficoltà, ottiene un nuovo potere, quello di poter volare. La vittoria è di Haru, il quale però risparmia e perdona l'amico invitandolo nei Nega Nebulus. Una volta risvegliatasi dal coma, Kuroyukihime entra nel Mondo Accelerato col suo vero Duel Avatar e dichiara una seconda guerra su Brain Burst.

Como Haru aprende cuán horrible es una persona Takumu, huye de los ataques de pila Cian, perdiendo uno de los brazos de plata Crow en el proceso. Haru inicialmente obtiene la ventaja gracias a su velocidad, pero pronto es golpeado por el ataque especial de Takumu y pierde un pie también.
