La serie, dirigida por Valentín Carrera, nació con identidad propia, siguiendo la estela de Os Viaxeiros da Luz, también realizada por IBISA TV para TVG. Doce años después, cinco intrépidas viajeras llenas de vida y curiosidad –Uxía, Inés, Micaela, Marta y Raquel- parten para hacer su propio viaje por Galicia, a la manera de los viajes románticos e ilustrados: a pie, a caballo, en barco de vela, en globo, en coche de línea.
