British cartoon Aubrey was first broadcast in 1980 with just one series of 39 cartoons, each lasting six minutes. They were produced and directed by Derek Phillips (D. P. Films) for ITV. The animators were Martin Chatfield, Andy Wagner, Rose Welsh and Joanne Gooding. Aubrey was a small round orange character with a huge nose who had many different adventures, getting himself in to a variety of troubling situations, often having to invent something in order to escape. The artwork, animation and music were simplistic but Aubrey was a popular show for its time
