Robin nimmt die Verfolgung von Tony Zucco, dem Kerl, der für den Tod seiner Eltern verantwortlich war, auf, obwohl Batman es ihm verboten hat. Sein detektivischer Spürsinn führt ihn zum Gaunerversteck am alten Vergnügungspier, wo Zucco Batman gefangen nehmen konnte. Dank des rechtzeitigen Eintreffens von Robin gelingt es den beiden, Zucco zu stellen. Im weiteren Verlauf erfährt Robin, daß Batman ihn nicht von Zucco fernhalten wollte, weil er der Meinung war, der Junge könne seine Gefühle nicht unter Kontrolle halten, sondern weil er den Gedanken nicht ertragen konnte, daß der, der Robin so viel genommen hatte, ihm nun Robin nehmen könnte.
Robin sets out to find Tony Zucco, all the while plagued by the memories of his parents' death and how Bruce took him in as his own son. Eventually, Batman finds Zucco at an old amusement park, but breaks his leg during the fight. Robin arrives, and prepares to kill Zucco in revenge. He initially scoffs Batman's advice, but realises that justice and revenge are not the same. Zucco is arrested, and Batman makes amends with Robin, stating that he wouldn't let Robin accompany him under the fear of Zucco killing him.

Batman continua sua investigação sobre Zucco enquanto Robin, desobedecendo Batman, prepara-se para vingar a morte de seus pais. Paralelamente a história conta a origem de Dick Grayson, desde seus primeiros laços com Bruce Wayne, até seu encontro com Zucco. Robin fica frente a frente com Zucco, mas Batman o impede de matá-lo. Zucco é preso e levado para a cadeia para pagar pelos seus crimes.
Batman continua en su investigación de Zucco mientras Robin, desobedeciendo a Batman, se dispone a vengar la muerte de sus padres. Paralelamente a la Historia se cuenta el Origen de Robin, desde sus primeros lazos con Bruce Wayne hasta su primer encuentro con Zucco.
