The ultimate social experiment begins when seven beauties and seven geeks move into an enormous mansion in Los Angeles. After choosing teams, Brian explains the first challenge, where the women and the men must learn from each other to complete tasks. All of the contestants must rediscover the fifth grade; the women compete in a trivia contest, focusing on history, spelling, and geography. Meanwhile, the men learn dance moves from the women, who then must perform in front of a crowd of people, who judge who danced the best. Mindi and Richard win both of their challenges, ensuring them full immunity and giving them the power to nominate two other teams for elimination. At the elimination ceremony, Richard and Mindi send Eric and Cheryl and Joe and Erika to the elimination chamber, where Eric and Cheryl are eliminated.
Episode two brings strain to the game. some of the Geeks are already growing thin on the Beauties, and one pair in the house, Erika and Brad, begins a romance. The second set of tasks entails lots of oil the women must complete a series of tasks having to do with a car: popping the hood, and changing the oil, air filter, and a tire. The men are forced to brush up on massages. At the challenges, Chuck and Caitilin prosper, working as a team to win both. Fighting breaks out between the two because of Chucks inability to nominate anyone for elimination, but in the end, they decide on sending Erika and Joe and Brad and Scarlet to the elimination room. Erika and Joe lose the quiz, sending them home and ending the short-lived love between Erika and Brad.
The third set of tasks is one of the trickiest yet for both groups - the Beauties and the Geeks. The women must brush up on their rocket science and follow a series of instructions in order to assemble a rocket and launch it in the fastest time. Later, the men are taken to a series of stores in order to purchase three outfits - formal wear, swimsuit, and casual wear - for their partners to wear in a fashion show. The winners of the tasks, Scarlet & Bill and Chuck & Caitilin, choose two teams to go up for elimination. In the end, Krystal and Brad are sent home, both with tremendous boosts in confidence and skill level.
The competition heats up as the four remaining teams gear up for their new tasks. The ladies get to give the guys makeovers and the guys must go out and get phone numbers from total strangers. Tensions rise as a rivalry grows between two of the contestants, and when Chuck and Caitilin win the challenges again, they nominate Richard & Mindi for elimination for the second time, along with Lauren & Bill. The experience of having gone through elimination once already proves to be an advantage for Richard & Mindi, who survive, and Lauren & Bill are sent home.
For the first time, the individual couples must work together as a team to have a successful night of camping. The rivalry between Chuck and Richard reaches an all-time high, and the romance between Scarlet and Chuck seems to fizzle out because of the competitive fire in Scarlet. After a challenge in the wilderness, two of the teams are sent to the elimination room, where one team is sent home, leaving only two couples for the final task.
During the final day at the mansion, the teams spend more time getting to know each other, learning a skill that the other excels at - karate, cooking, kayaking, and piano - as one last thing to do with each other before the final elimination, a series of ten questions about your partner. By evening's end, one team wins a quarter of a million dollars, but both teams walk away with more knowledge and more confidence.
Beauty and the Geek 2 begins with geekier Geeks, more beautiful Beauties, and lots of lessons learned, even in the first two days! After the eight new women choose a partner, the contestants move into the mansion, and quickly begin to bond. Josh finds himself filled with so much anxiety and insecurity that he cannot bear to sleep in his room with Cher but instead spends the night in the closet while Tristin reveals her own insecurities about wearing a swimsuit.
The beauties and geeks continue with getting to know each other, but two couples are forced to meet more quickly than the rest when Chris and Amanda make their decision about which pair to switch themselves with. Later, the men face a karaoke challenge, and the women are forced to muster up the courage to give a speech about a political topic that they know very little about.
When the women give the men makeovers in order to improve their chances of winning the week's only task, the geeks come out looking much more presentable than they did, and their confidence soars. After the girls have stylists give the men haircuts, eyebrow and chest waxings, and find a new wardrobe, the guys are sent to a bar for a round of speed dating, where three women spend a short period of time with all six men and then judge them on their conversation, appearance, and all-around social skills. The women observe the dates and critique their partners from TV monitors.
The beauties are forced to ask their geeks out on a romantic date, and later, the men set out on a photography challenge, making their partners feel comfortable as the subjects of their work. The relationship between Cher and Wes becomes more intimate, and at the end of the episode, one couple is sent packing.
The contestants make heartfelt videos for their partner, explaining what the partner means to them and what they learned from the experience of Beauty and the Geek. After the teams cherish their videos, they get to work on the next task, a joint scavenger hunt. The challenge involves each couple in thier own car with a driver; the women (without any help from the men) must navigate through Los Angeles to three different stores, where the men must then go into the store and choose the item that they think their partner has picked.
The two remaining couples are given some time to spend with each other and learn some of their hobbies. Josh takes Cher fly fishing while Joe shows Brittany his chess skills and tries to teach her the game. Later, Cher teaches Josh how to cook a meal as Brittany takes Joe ice-skating. After, the teams spend their last hours with each other, studying the ins and outs of each of their lives for the final quiz. In the quiz room, the pairs are surprised to learn that instead of the way the final quiz was orchestrated in season one, this one would be different: one person from each pair must answer a series of questions about his or her own interests and the other must try to match the answers.
In the shocking third season finale, unexpected visitors threaten to jeopardize the status of the competition. Meanwhile, as the final two teams prepare for the final showdown, they reveal sides of each other that they've never shown before, and one teammate makes a decision that turns the competition upside down and leaves everyone in shock.
Things are shaken up when the male beauty and the female geek finally move into the mansion. Meanwhile, the geeks are challenged to write an autobiographical rap to be performed for Three 6 Mafia, and the beauties must study politics and later put their newfound knowledge to the test while debating each other.
After a champagne celebration and a game of Truth or Dare take place, a romance begins to happen in the house between two contestants. Meanwhile, the beauties must study anatomy, and are later challenged by locating and drawing organs on their partner's body. The geeks, on the other hand, are challenged to put together romantic gifts.
The remaining contestants travel to Mexico, where one geek comes out of his shell and another is pushed to limits. For their challenges, the beauties must face each other in a memory competition while the geeks compete for immunity in a dance-off. Finally, a new twist promises to turn the competition upside down.
The nine new beauties arrive via Air Beauty and nine new geeks arrive via the Geek Mobile. Everyone is surprised to learn they will compete as teams of beauties vs. teams of geeks. Upon moving into the mansion and getting used to their new surroundings, the beauties are required to shed their make-up and high heels and are given a complete make-under. Once prosthetic noses and oversize sweaters are added, the girls must put their social skills to the test by trying to secure phone numbers from unsuspecting guys at a bar. The geeks find themselves in the brand new quiz room where one geek is sent home.
With the competition well under way, everyone must showcase their talents when instructed to perform in a beauty vs. geek talent show. Flirtations between several beauties and geeks cause some startling consequences. Fearful of losing her spot in the house, one beauty is willing to do whatever it takes to stick around, but rocks the boat when she frustrates both teams.
Newly formed geeks and beauty duos try combining skills when their first team challenges are revealed. The social experiment takes a technical turn when the beauties must present a homemade science project to some discerning critics. Some geeks become smooth operators when offering relationship advice to live callers on Dr. Drew's nationally syndicated radio program, "Loveline." One unlucky pair doesn't make the grade and leaves the house.
The highly anticipated geek makeover has arrived and the remaining guys shock the beauties with their new looks. The teams turn up the heat on the set of the Emmy Award-winning daytime drama "The Young and the Restless," as cast members Michelle Stafford and Joshua Morrow appear to judge the teams on their acting chops. A twist at the stair ceremony lets one team off the hook but leaves the remaining teams in the lurch.
