배우를 꿈꾸며 서울에 올라온 시골 청년 금복은 전세사기를 당한 뒤, 정기를 흡수하지 못해 고통받던 도깨비 왕 비형과 엮이며 기묘한 동거를 시작한다. 여기에 비형의 충직한 호위무사 길달, 천 년 전 길달을 짝사랑했던 구미호 지귀까지 얽히면서, 금복은 세 요괴의 집착과 오해 속에서 귀신들의 표적이 되고 만다.
