Aoyama Yuki, Nozomi Kaihara, Mizushima Akari meet by chance at a concert they attend. They enroll in the school where the concert was held and realize they are in the same class.
A mysterious blue stone is found. Combined with a hauntingly beautiful melody and they might have the answer to the current uncertain future of Yuki, Akari and Kaihara.
The girls are taught the lessons of pop stars. They come to realize that pop stars never run from what makes them unique and they must apply that lesson to find out the truth of their past.
They watch Reika perform, remembering how they met at her concert.
Akari loved to sing at her church and is given a chance to shine again with the other two girls, none of whom knew their birth parents.
Akiba Kisaragi, Reika's manager and headmistress of the school, severs her ties with Reika telling her she must go her own way now.
Akari and Yuki learn more about their past and they are tied together. Will their new bond include or drive away Nozomi? The trio now perform together naming their group R3 ("Resonance of 3").
The three face the M&K Records' auditions. Jun is now their rival, but she is not their only rival. There are hopefuls from every music agency.
Having passed with flying colors at the audition, the three are busy everyday in preparation for their CD debut.
The seasons pass and sale of their debut CDs rises steadily, as does Jun's. The girls finally rank first in the hit charts. Seeing them reminds Kisaragi of her lost daughters.
